Blackbird Communications approached us with a bold vision: to introduce the Better Than Bouillon: Culinary Collection, curated specifically for chefs at home, not just home chefs. Their aim? To revolutionize the way home cooks approach their craft, moving beyond mere sustenance to embrace culinary artistry.

Embracing this challenge wholeheartedly, we embarked on a journey to design packaging that doesn't just contain ingredients but showcases them as the stars of the culinary show. Our mission? Can we turn home-cooks into home-chefs by celebrating the art of ingredient-driven cooking?

Aspiring home chefs strive for culinary excellence, knowing that settling for "good enough" stifles growth. Constantly seeking better options, each dish represents an opportunity for improvement and advancement.

Anticipating a home-cooking culinary revolution, we believe emphasizing ingredients through natural food photography, intricate illustrations, handwritten labels, and an updated logo will resonate deeply with aspiring home chefs.

solution

We'll curate a creative direction that elevates the perception of home cooking to the level of culinary artistry. This will involve incorporating hand-written fonts reminiscent of restaurant kitchens and developing an illustration pattern showcasing the product's ingredients, setting it apart from conventional food photography. Additionally, we'll implement innovative food photography techniques, focusing on ingredients over finished dishes. Our packaging will feature intricate ingredient illustrations and handwritten labels atop jars, elevating the overall aesthetic. Furthermore, we'll update the logo to reflect the quality associated with high-end food establishments, setting the stage for a new era of culinary exploration and mastery.

For all re-branding efforts, not only did Metafor handle the design work but they also seamlessly managed the final production phase - keeping lots of production specs organized, managing timelines, and the final delivery of all production files. Their process and attention to detail made the project much easier to manage on our end.
